Academic English to Pathway

All programs must:

  1. Pass all classes in the term before your Pathway program, including elective classes

  2. Achieve at least 70% attendance in all classes

Can I use a language score to enter my Pathway program early?

You should speak with a Student Support Advisor to learn more about using a test score to begin your Pathway program early. It may not be possible for every situation.

Graduate Pathway - Standard (3 Terms)

  • Requirements: Pass Academic English Level 5 with grades of C or higher
  • Possible Start: Varies based on major - Please speak with a Pathway advisor 

Graduate Pathway - 2 Term Accelerated 

  • Requirements: Pass Academic English Level 6 with grades of B or higher
  • Possible Start: Varies based on major - Please speak with a Pathway advisor

Undergraduate Pathway - Comprehensive (4 Terms)

  • Requirements: Pass Academic English Level 3 with grades of C or higher
  • Possible Start: All Terms, except Computer Science
  • Computer Science begins only in Fall Term

Undergraduate Pathway - Standard (3 Terms)

  • Requirements: Pass Academic English Level 4 with grades of C or higher
  • Possible Start: All Terms, except Computer Science, Science, Forestry, and Engineering
  • Science, Forestry, and Engineering all have start dates in Fall and Winter.
  • Computer Science begins only in Fall Term.

Undergraduate Pathway - 2 Term Accelerated

  • Requirements: Pass Academic English Level 5 with grades of C or higher
  • Possible Start: All Terms

Undergraduate Pathway - 1 Term Accelerated

  • Requirements: Pass Academic English Level 6 with grades of C or higher
  • Possible Start: All Terms

Pathway to OSU

Academic English to OSU (Undergraduate)

In order to progress to OSU, students enrolled in an Academic English Plus Degree program must:

  1. Complete Academic English Level 6 with grades of C or higher
  2. Achieve at least 70% attendance in all classes
