Enhance Your University Experience!

Getting involved on campus is one of the best ways to truly experience going to university in the United States.

INTO OSU Conversant Program

Do you want to practice your English and meet new people?

Join our Cultural Ambassador Conversant Program (CACP)! If you are in the U.S. or in your home country, CACP is a great way to meet other OSU students and Corvallis community members.

What can you expect?

  • We will introduce you to an English-speaking OSU student or Corvallis community member.
  • You will meet with your partner(s) for one hour every wek until Week 9 of the term.
  • You will practice your English, meet new people, learn more about culture in the U.S., and have a new experience!

When can I sign up for CACP?

  • Sign-Ups for the term are open NOW!

How can you sign up to participate in CACP?

  • Complete the Google Form on this website.

When do I receive the contact information for my CACP partner(s)?

  • For Winter 2023, please check your OSU email (ONID) on January 17th to receive your partner's email address.

Question: Who can participate in CACP?

  • Answer: Oregon State University international students.

Question: Can I volunteer as a conversation partner if I am an international student?

  • Answer: We evaluate this situation on a case-by-case basis. If English is not your first language, but you believe that your English level is fluent and your accent is clear enough to be an example for English-learning students, please contact the Student Engagement Coordinator to discuss options ([email protected]).

Question: What if my partner doesn't respond to my emails or messages?

  • Answer: Please contact [email protected] so that she can reach out to the student directly.
