Welcome to OSU and the USA! INTO OSU Student Engagement is dedicated to providing awesome events to make your university experience amazing. 

HOW TO FIND EVENTS:

  • Click the "+" button next to the week you want to look at.

  • You will see details, where to meet, and a link to sign up (if necessary).

  • Follow @INTOoregonstate on Instagram for event updates. Photos are also uploaded to Instagram stories after the event!  

HOW TO SIGN UP FOR EVENTS:  

  • After you decide which event(s) you want to attend, click the "sign up now" link. The link will take you to a Google Forms page.

  • Complete the form and click "submit form". You will receive a confirmation email. 

Sign up as soon as possible to reserve your spot! 

 

 

Tuesday, September 13th

GROUP WALK TO THE COVERED BRIDGE, 5:00PM-6:30PM

  • Details: Come meet new people and stretch your legs on this beautiful walk to the Irish Covered Bridge. Covered bridges are popular and protected in Oregon. This is a great opportunity to get outside and see how wonderful Corvallis is! Free event.

Wednesday, September 14th

RESOURCE FAIR AT THE ILLC, 1:00PM-4:30PM

  • Details: Come to the lobby of the ILLC to learn what resources are available to you as an international student at Oregon State University! Participating organizations are: cultural clubs, bank representatives, community resources, and more! Free event.

BOWLING AT THE MEMORIAL UNION (MU), 5:00PM-7:15PM

  • Details: Did you know that there is a bowling alley on campus? It’s true! Come meet new people and enjoy this all-American activity. There will also be pool tables and air hockey tables available! Remember to bring socks if you want to go bowling so you can wear the bowling shoes. Free event.

Thursday, September 15th

CAMPUS TOURS, VARIOUS TIMES - CHECK YOUR ORIENTATION SCHEDULE! 

  • Details: Welcome to campus! Come receive a campus tour so you can see how beautiful OSU is and get a better idea of where your classes will be. These tours are led by OSU students, staff, and/or community members. Free event.

SHOPPING TRIP TO ALBANY, 5:00PM-8:00PM

  • Details: Do you need to buy items for your dorm room or apartment? Do you need a U.S. SIM card? Come shopping with us! INTO OSU will provide transportation to the Heritage Mall in Albany, which has stores like Target that will have everything you'd need! We will drive you to the mall and then transport you back to the ILLC with your purchases. Free event.

ICE CREAM SOCIAL AT THE ILLC, 4:00pm-5:00pm

  • Details: Come meet new people and enjoy a sweet treat to celebrate the end of your first week! Ice cream and toppings will be available. Free event.

DOWNTOWN CORVALLIS TOUR, 1:00pm-3:30pm

  • Details: Come get to know your new city! This is a walking tour from the ILLC to Downtown Corvallis. You will see where the fun stuff is like shops, restaurants, and bars. But also practical piece like banks and where the post office is. Free event.

PAINT + PLANTS, 5:00pm-7:00pm

  • Details: Come enjoy this crafting activity and meet new people! This is a fun opportunity to show your creative side and bring a little life into your dorm room or apartment. INTO OSU will provide pots, paint, plants, and soil. Free event.

  • Details: This is a perfect way to meet new people! Come and engage in these ice-breaker activities that are led by current OSU international students! You will learn more about other people’s interests, their home country, and their goals at OSU. Free event.

OSU FOOTBALL GAME VS. UNIVERSITY OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA (USC), TIME IS “TO BE DETERMINED”

  • Details: Come support the OSU Beavers as they compete against USC! This game will have SO MUCH ENERGY and is an amazing opportunity to experience this piece of American culture. Free event, but make sure you download your free student ticket to your phone and bring your OSU student ID card!

CORVALLIS FALL FESTIVAL, 1:00PM-3:30PM

  • Details: Come get outside and enjoy the amenities of Corvallis! This outdoor event happens close to campus and will include art vendors, food vendors, and live music. Free event.

SIGN UP FOR THE CULTURAL AMBASSADOR CONVERSANT PROGRAM (CACP), OPEN NOW

  • Details: Meet English-speaking OSU students and practice your English conversation skills in this fun and casual program. More information and a registration form on our CACP Website.

STUDENT SOCCER GAME, 5:30PM-7:30PM

  • Details: Come get outside and play soccer with friends! We will organize scrimmage-style games and the teams will change. So bring your friends and come make new friends playing this international sport! Free event.

TRIP TO THE OREGON COAST, 10:00AM-6:00PM

  • Details: The Oregon Coast is famous for its beautiful views and its amazing summer vibes! We will have the chance to visit two coastal towns. Newport has delicious seafood and lots of cute shopping. Nye Beach has beautiful views and access to the Pacific Ocean. Come and enjoy the views, the food, the shopping, and more. $15 includes roundtrip transportation.

HIKE TO MCDOWELL CREEK FALLS & FOOD TRUCK DINNER, 11:00AM-7:00PM

  • Details: Come enjoy a hike with INTO OSU! McDowell Creek Falls is just an hour away and a relaxed hike with beautiful waterfalls. We will stop at The Barn in Albany, which is a collection of food trucks. You will be able to eat dinner here before returning to the ILLC. $15 includes roundtrip transportation.
