October 4th, 2021 Update

 

On June 14, 2021, at the INTO OSU All-Center Meeting we kicked off conversations together around the INTO OSU mission and vision.  

The current INTO OSU mission and vision statements were established in 2015.  In the last 6 years, the makeup of the staff and faculty, work of the center and broader groups of students we serve have changed prompting the development of new or re-imagined mission and vision statements for INTO OSU. 

At the All-Center Meeting, we recorded extensive notes based on the group conversations and discussions we all had centered on the current mission and vision statements.  Following the All-Center Meeting, a Mission and Vision Committee was formed to facilitate the process of reviewing the notes from that meeting and starting a process to develop new concepts for the INTO OSU mission and vision.  The committee consists of Shain Panzeri (Chair), Julaine Nickels, Audra Woolridge, Kate Kerish, and Ernie Shirosky. 

Below is a broad timeline of the Mission and Vision Committee’s work to facilitate the establishment of new INTO OSU mission and vision statements:

Summer Term Committee establishes three rough concepts for both the mission and vision statements based on feedback from All-Center Meeting
October

Survey staff and faculty to give feedback on the rough concepts.  Committee utilizes survey feedback to pick the most popular concepts to develop three final versions of both the mission and vision statements. 
November Survey staff and faculty to give feedback on the final draft statements.  Committee utilizes survey feedback to pick and refine the most popular statements.
December Propose the final mission and vision statements to the INTO OSU board and the Executive Director for approval
