Undergraduate Pathway

Understand the Pathway Program

Our International Year One Undergraduate Pathway programs combine intensive English language study, academic skills development and academic course work. They are carefully designed programs to help students through the first year of the undergraduate degree program. Joining our Pathway program will not extend the overall length of an undergraduate degree program. In fact, it will guarantee places in required courses, which may shorten the length of the student's program.

The program is ideal for students who:

  • Want to earn a bachelor’s degree in the US
  • Desire additional academic, language and cultural support to excel at a US university
  • May need to improve English language skills
  • May have a lower GPA than required for direct admission to degree programs

Program Benefits

  • Guaranteed progression to an OSU undergraduate program upon successful completion of a Pathway program
  • Courses with domestic and international students
  • Access to all OSU campus facilities and events
  • Highly trained, experienced university instructors
  • Dedicated Undergraduate Pathway tutoring for any subject
  • Academic advising throughout the program including progression and student success advisors
  • Use of a state-of-the-art learning center
  • Exceptional on-campus housing experience; all students with Undergraduate Pathway in their study plan are required to live on campus during their first three terms

For complete information, go to the Admissions site about Undergraduate Pathway.

Mission Statement

The Undergraduate Pathway Progam provides international students with highly structured, full university credit courses of study at the freshman level, empowering students to succeed through language, cultural and academic support.

Our Graduate Pathway programs are the most supported and non-competitive route to a graduate program in an American Tier 1 research university. • May need to improve English language skills and still earn credits toward their degree program
  • Desire additional academic, language and cultural support in order to succeed during the first year at a US university
  • May not be eligible for direct entry
  • May need additional preparation for GMAT/GRE

Program Benefits

  • Up to 40 hours of TOEFL test preparation and GMAT/GRE preparation
  • Dedicated academic advisor and progression advisor to help facilitate transition to the university
  • Pathway peer tutors available to provide additional academic support
  • Assured and non-competitive progression to masters program when the student successfully complete the Graduate Pathway

TOEFL, GMAT and GRE PREP

Our test preparation courses are taught by experienced OSU instructors and focus on skills-based language development and test-taking skills which include the use of practice tests and individual feedback on performance. We also provide self-study materials, available in our learning center.
