Help them learn about life at OSU and your culture while you learn about theirs. The INTO OSU Cultural Ambassador Conversant Program (CACP) matches our Cultural Ambassador Conversant Volunteers with one or two international students for the term.
Volunteers meet with their partner(s) for at least one hour a week, and where they meet, what they talk about, and what activities they do is up to them! CACP provides some suggested activities and conversation topics week-by-week based on a theme and community events happening, but these are optional.
This is a great way to internationalize your education at OSU and gain cultural diversity experience here on campus. Cultural Ambassador groups aim to explore our campus and participate in meaningful conversations that help international students practice their English skills and feel a greater sense of connection with the OSU and Corvallis community.
Applications due by Friday of Week 1 during Fall, Winter, and Spring Terms. Late applications may be accepted depending on the need for volunteers. CACP is not available for online students who live outside the greater Corvallis area due to the logistics of the program.
Want to be notified when the application for volunteering opens? Be the first to find out by signing up for our INTO OSU Volunteer Email Listserv.
If you are an INTO OSU or international student who is learning English and want to participate in the program, DO NOT use this application! Sign-ups typically occur in-person during Week 1 of the term near the ILLC Welcome Desk. Contact the program coordinator, Rylan Wall for more information.
